Try This – The Antioxidant You Need This Winter (Prevent Flu-Like Symptoms and More!)

Cold and flu season is upon us—big time!

If you’re like me, you want to do everything you can to avoid getting hit hard with the flu.

Well, today I’ve got a pretty good resource for you—especially if you’re a high-risk individual, a parent who needs to keep healthy, or anyone who just does not want to get knocked out by influenza.

We’re talking all about a major antioxidant that can reduce flu symptoms, and it’s even been recommended by many practitioners to help people in the Los Angeles area (like me) protect themselves from the ongoing wildfires.

It can also improve fertility, mental health, brain health, and blood sugar levels.

What is the magical antioxidant I’m talking about?

Let’s dive in…

For the last few years, I’ve really been focused on prioritizing my muscle strength. With that comes soreness, tension, and just the general aches and pains that come with recovery.  If you can relate, BON CHARGE’s Infrared PEMF Devices are a total game-changer. They combine the soothing power of infrared heat with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy to target deep muscle areas and relieve stiffness and aches, all in the comfort of your own home.

Unlike traditional recovery methods, the BON CHARGE Infrared PEMF Devices penetrate deeply into muscle tissues, using electromagnetic pulses to boost circulation. Whether you're recovering after a gym session or just dealing with everyday muscle soreness, PEMF technology provides relief that other methods can’t.

I’ve tried a lot of different methods to ease muscle tension and recover from the daily strain, but the BON CHARGE Infrared PEMF Devices have made a noticeable difference in how I feel. It’s simple, effective, and has given me the relief I was searching for, especially with muscle recovery.

I use my PEMF mat before going to bed, when I’m on a work call, or when I’m watching a movie with my wife. It honestly helps me relax so much. The setup is simple: just unfold the mat, plug it in, and select it from the settings. It’s great that the settings are customizable to meet your specific needs.

NAC: The Antioxidant You Need This Winter Season

If you haven’t heard of N-acetylcysteine (NAC), listen up.

This naturally occurring amino acid is well-known for being the precursor to glutathione (our master antioxidant). Made from L-cysteine, this antioxidant and anti-inflammatory supplement helps to protect the body from damage caused by free radicals or reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and tissues. Free radicals are produced by a variety of factors, including exposure to pollution, sun exposure, stress, viruses, and more.

These ROS can also damage our DNA and contribute to major diseases like heart disease, various types of cancer, and challenges like infertility.

NAC helps our body get rid of these ROS and fight off disease.

Another really cool fact I learned is that NAC can also be helpful for treating acetaminophen overdose—it helps to break down the drug. (Of course, always work with a doctor; this is not medical advice!)

Now, recent research is shedding light on its benefits for reducing flu symptoms.

A study published in the European Respiratory Journal investigated the effects of NAC on influenza and influenza-like episodes. The study involved 262 subjects who were randomly assigned to receive either NAC or a placebo over a six-month period. The subjects were followed during the study, and the researchers recorded the number of influenza and influenza-like episodes they experienced.

The results of the study showed that taking 600 mg of NAC twice a day reduced flu-like symptoms (frequency, severity, and length of episodes) from 79 percent to 25 percent!

I’ve been taking NAC for over a year now to support my immune system, reproductive health, brain health, and more, but this study gives us even more to get excited about when it comes to this powerful supplement.

The researchers point out that when it comes to influenza, NAC may be able to:

  • Help to reduce the severity of symptoms of influenza, such as fever, cough, and sore throat.

  • Shorten the duration of influenza and influenza-like episodes.

  • Improve immune function, which can help the body fight off infection.

  • Reduce the risk of complications from influenza, such as pneumonia.

While cysteine is available in many foods like eggs, chicken, meat, and yogurt, NAC is only available in supplement form.

Most experts recommend taking 600–1,500 mg of NAC daily. This study showed benefits at 600 mg twice a day. But of course, always work with a practitioner before taking high doses of any supplement.

I hope this makes your flu season more manageable. And be sure to send this to any friends or family who need extra antioxidant support.

Here’s to your health,
