Try This – 6 Ways To Radically Reduce Your Hidden Fluoride Exposure
If something was being added to your water supply that could cause thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, diseases of the brain, and lower bone density, you’d be really pissed off, wouldn’t you?
Well, there is, and you should be pissed off.
Let’s get into it…

Eye strain is a huge issue for so many of us, especially if you are sensitive to light like my sister. She spends most of her working day on her laptop or phone, so she has to take extra precautions to prevent headaches, fatigue, and eye strain.
That’s why she loves the Bon Charge light-sensitivity glasses. They've made a big difference for her focus and concentration, especially when she’s working.
The change has been noticeable. Her eyes feel better, she falls asleep faster, and she wakes up genuinely refreshed—no more groggy mornings. Plus, the glasses are stylish, so she feels comfortable wearing them around the house or during video calls. They blend into her routine, making them easy to use, yet the impact on her sleep quality has been amazing.
What she loves most is knowing that these glasses aren’t just about comfort—they’re backed by science. They help block out the harmful blue light that can disrupt melatonin production, which is key to getting deep, restful sleep.
If you have light sensitivity and are serious about protecting your eyes from artificial light exposure and improving your overall well-being, I can’t recommend these light-sensitivity glasses enough. Give them a try—your future well-rested self will thank you!
Bon Charge products are also now HSA/FSA eligible, which means people can use their HSA/FSA funds to pay for 99% of their products and get back up to 40% off the purchase price of any of their glasses.

For 75 years we’ve been consuming fluoridated water, getting fluoridated dental treatments, and eating foods with fluoride, all the while not knowing the true impact of this mineral in the amounts we’re being exposed to.
I recently sat down with Dr. Mark Burhenne, a functional dentist who has been sounding the alarm on the potential impact of fluoride, about why we should care about reducing our exposure.
He told me about a legal case in which recently, after a decade of being in court, a federal judge ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must take action to reduce the risk of fluoride exposure at our current levels.
In this ruling, Judge Edward Chen stated, "In all, there is substantial and scientifically credible evidence establishing that fluoride poses a risk to human health; it is associated with a reduction in the IQ of children and is hazardous at dosages that are far too close to fluoride levels in the drinking water of the United States.”
Judge Chen, who took extra lengths to review all of the research on fluoride, said that the EPA has a number of ways in which it can act on his ruling, from issuing warning labels about the risks of fluoride to actually reducing the amount of fluoride added to drinking water.
This is groundbreaking. As Dr. Burhenne explained, this is the first time that a group of citizens were able to sue the EPA thanks to the Toxic Substances Control Act. This act mandates that the EPA looks into all new substances introduced into our food and water supply, but it also allows citizens to sue the EPA.
It just goes to show what a group of dedicated activists can do to protect the health of millions.
Why Is Fluoride Hazardous?
In my interview with Dr. Burhenne, he told me that fluoride recommendations had not changed in 75 years! But in the last 10–15 years, many are waking up to its harm, particularly in children and fetuses.
Unfortunately, those who are supposed to be looking out for our children are following outdated advice. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists said that the benefits of fluoride outweigh the side effects. This is nuts. Do they care more about our children’s teeth or their brains?
Although fluoride works on our teeth, the damage to our brains is undeniable. Dr. Burhenne believes that it’s impacting our brain’s mitochondria and causing inflammation, which can impact how the brain grows and even the IQ of children.
And fluoride isn’t just added to our water. Dentists are using fluoride in treatment. Fluoride is added to certain cookware, and many foods and beverages are made with fluoridated water.
Dentists already recommend moms stay away from fluoridated water and products to protect their growing babies. Shouldn’t extra precautions be taken for everyone else, as well, especially children?
Dr. Burhenne explained to me that there was no scientific basis for putting fluoride in the water. It simply started off as an observation that children who drank fluoridated water had fewer dental caries because, again, while fluoride can work to prevent the decay that comes from overeating sugar and ultra-processed foods, it also comes with consequences.
For example, fluoride interferes with calcium in our bodies by preventing calcium from being released from the bone into our bloodstream. We need calcium for our blood vessels, nerves, and hormones.
Between this and the effects on our brain health and thyroid, does the benefit really outweigh the risk?
Here’s the real kicker: there is no evidence to show that we have less tooth decay than countries that do not fluoridate their water.
When it comes to our teeth, Dr. Burhenne recommends a safer alternative to fluoride called nano-hydroxyapatite. It’s totally safe, and its particles are more similar to our teeth than fluoride. Some dentists are even using varnish with nano-hydroxyapatite instead of fluoride. You just have to find the right dentist! Dr. Burhenne has a database of functional dentists you can look through here.
Here are Dr. Burhenne’s other recommendations for avoiding fluoride:
Know what you’re drinking. Check with your local municipal water supply to see how much fluoride they’re adding to the water.
Get a good water filter that filters out harmful chemicals and fluoride.
Be careful about your cookware. Some cookware contains fluoride. Look for low-tox brands or non-coated ceramic or stainless steel.
If you’re thinking about getting pregnant or are pregnant, take extra care to avoid fluoridated products and water.
Ask your dentist or your child’s dentist not to use fluoride. Many are open to avoiding it. If they’re not, get a new dentist!
Use fluoride-free toothpaste. Dr. Burhenne has a fluoride-free nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste that I love called Fygg (not an ad or affiliate link). They’ve also given me a discount code if you’re interested, so be sure to use code OMB20 at checkout.
These simple tips can help protect you and your family. To learn more about fluoride and this topic, check out my episode with Dr. Mark Burhenne here.
Here’s to your health,

P.S. Are you a food activist who cares about protecting children's health?
If so, please do me a quick 30-second favor: sign this petition by my friend Vani Hari (The Food Babe) to urge Kellogg’s to remove harmful artificial food dyes from their cereals!
It’s crazy, but many of the food dyes that Kellogg’s uses in America, like Red 40, Yellow 5, and Blue 1, are completely banned in Europe.
It’s time we let Kellogg’s know that we demand better!
