Studies, life advice, and more...

All right, I’ve got some really interesting shares this week.

I’m sharing some information about perfumes and fragrances, why you need to avoid buying supplements on Amazon, some life advice, and a cool way that women can take control of their hormonal health

Let’s get into it…

I’m so excited to share a groundbreaking discovery that’s changing how we think about long-term health. It’s called C15:0, and it’s the first essential fatty acid discovered in 90 years.

Here’s the deal: healthy cells are the foundation of a healthy body. But most of us don’t realize our cells are under constant stress from aging, inflammation, and environmental toxins. That’s where Fatty15 comes in.

Fatty15 is a science-backed, award-winning supplement made with pure C15:0. This essential nutrient helps repair age-related cellular damage, boost mitochondrial function, and defend your cells from oxidative stress. The result is more energy, deeper sleep, improved mood, a stronger metabolism, and greater overall resilience.

C15:0 supports multiple systems in the body, including brain, heart, liver, immune, and metabolic health. Many users also report smoother joint function, healthier skin and hair, and a renewed sense of vitality.

Fatty15 contains no fillers, flavors, allergens, or preservatives—just one clean, vegan-friendly ingredient: C15:0.

If you’re ready to support your long-term health from the inside out—starting at the cellular level—now is the time.

Fatty15 is on a mission to replenish your C15 levels and restore your long-term health. You can get an additional 15% off their 90-day subscription Starter Kit by going to fatty15.com/DHRU and using the code TRYTHIS at checkout!

I don’t know about you, but if I’m around someone who is wearing a lot of fragrance or in an Uber with an air freshener, or if I walk into a mall or store riddled with perfumes, I immediately feel like crap. I’ll get headaches, itchy eyes, and a little brain fog. Anyone else?

There could be a good reason for that. When ozone in the air meets the oils on your skin, it creates a tiny “oxidation field” around you. It’s basically an invisible cloud of reactive molecules (called hydroxyl radicals). This personal chemical aura can neutralize or transform pollutants around you. But slathering on lotion or spritzing your favorite perfume might weaken that natural shield.

In a controlled test, volunteers who applied moisturizer or a popular fragrance ended up with significantly fewer of those helpful radicals near their skin. The lotion essentially diluted the skin’s oil (and even added an ingredient that soaked up radicals), while the perfume’s alcohol base caused the protective molecules to break down right away. Scientists aren’t sure yet if a dampened oxidation field is good, bad, or neutral, but it doesn’t sound great to me.

I personally feel better when I avoid fragrances as much as possible.

This is a must-read thread on X from @fitfounder on why you should avoid buying supplements from Amazon. The gist of it is this: even if you think you’re buying from that retailer's Amazon storefront, there are potentially a lot of counterfeit products mixed in with their regular inventory.

Counterfitters will print labels that look almost identical to what you’re used to purchasing, but the contents are not the same at all, and because of Amazon’s commingled inventory system, you really might not know if you’re getting the real product or something else, which is kind of scary and definitely effed up. I hope Amazon figures out a solution!

I thought this happened to me recently when I ordered my favorite plant-based melatonin product on Amazon and noticed that it did not have the same effect on my sleep; in fact, I felt like nothing was happening. Now, I wonder if I actually received a counterfeit product. Bottom line: buy directly from the source if you can!

I love this, and I really encourage you to read the entire thread, which you can find here

This is a fun share for me. My sister and my wife launched a seed cycling company in 2021, and they recently released the results of their first clinical study, which has been super impressive to see.

If you’re not familiar with seed cycling, it’s basically a food-based approach to tackling things like PMS, hormonal imbalances, and difficult transitions through perimenopause and menopause. It involves rotating four specific seeds throughout the month that contain nutrients like fiber, lignans, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to produce, eliminate, and balance hormones.

Their clinical study looking at the impact of seed cycling on PMS was really cool, and you can read about the full results here. This was not an RCT (randomized controlled trial), so there are some limitations to the study, but it’s still really awesome to witness the power of food as medicine and hear about the lives they’re changing every day.

✍️Random Fun Fact of the Week

Did you know that? I certainly didn’t! But that doesn’t mean we should give up on our goal of 10,000 steps! Getting in your steps is still really beneficial, but according to the science, it looks like the magic number is around 8,000 steps. Walking is a great way to lower blood sugar, reduce anxiety, get your body moving, improve focus, and so much more, but don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get 10,000 steps in daily. The goal is to not stay sedentary for too long. Now I aim for about 8,000 steps daily plus exercise and training about 3-4 times a week.

See you next week,

Dhru Purohit
