Try This – This Supplement Reduces Soft Plaque in the Heart

Hi Everyone!

Heart disease is the biggest killer of our time, and it’s no shock that the food we eat plays a huge role in the development of this deadly disease—for better or worse!

In fact, there are some foods that are so powerful they can actually help prevent atherosclerosis—the buildup of plaque in our arterial walls.

But here’s something even more exciting: there’s one food in particular that has been shown to REVERSE arterial plaque.

Why is this so exciting?

It’s really hard to reduce high-risk soft plaque. This is the plaque that puts us most at risk of developing cardiovascular disease and suffering from heart-related events.

But now, there’s a potential supplement that could help reduce soft plaque, which, combined with the right diet and lifestyle habits, could significantly improve health outcomes for so many people.

Can you guess what this food is?

Let’s dive in…

 Today's Sponsor

I’ve talked to so many experts about the importance of clean water as a foundation for great health. Unfortunately, many of us cannot rely on tap water as a source of clean water. Most of it is full of toxins like microbes, pesticides, and plastics! When I learned how harmful tap water can be, I started looking for solutions. AquaTru is a countertop reverse osmosis purifier with a four-stage filtration system that removes 15x more contaminants than the best-selling water filters out there.

AquaTru’s countertop reverse osmosis offers some of the strongest protection against contaminants in water. Here is a full list of substances the AquaTru Carafe filter removes. AquaTru is changing the game and making reverse osmosis water more convenient, affordable, and accessible with their filters.

I recently sat down for an interview with Dr. Joel Kahn, a cardiologist and integrative doctor, and he told me some mind-blowing information!

Dr. Kahn, like most cardiologists, is well-versed on the interplay that our genetics, lifestyle, exercise, and diet have on our risk of heart disease. And just because you have a family history of heart disease, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing you can do to protect your heart with the right tools.

In our interview, Dr. Kahn shared one powerful supplement that has been shown to actually stop the progression of arterial plaque, the stuff that causes heart attacks and strokes! Have you guessed what it was?

Drum roll, please…

It’s aged garlic!

Say what?! You might not have even heard of this stuff before, but it is powerful.

In a groundbreaking, double-blind, randomized, and placebo-controlled study, researchers separated 23 individuals into two groups. One group took a placebo for one year, while the other group took 2.4 mg of aged garlic extract (AGE) per day for one year.

The placebo group had an increase in their calcium score (indicating an increase in plaque buildup) compared to the AGE group. The calcium score was actually significantly lower in the participants taking AGE. They also had improved homocysteine levels (an amino acid that, at high levels, can damage our arteries).

This could be HUGE for folks at risk of developing heart disease.

So, what is it about AGE that makes it so powerful?

Previous studies have looked at the role that garlic plays in lowering inflammation. One study in particular found that the combined use of CoQ10 and AGE lowered C-reactive protein. C-reactive protein, a protein made by the liver, increases when our body is inflamed.

The powerful compounds in garlic (such as allicin and alliin) have been shown to be antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anticancer, and so much more

Who knew this tiny food could be so mighty?!

Try This: Make Garlic Part of Your Daily Routine

Many of the Blue Zone populations, as well as those who follow the Mediterranean diet, use garlic in their daily cooking. Using powerful foods like garlic has so many benefits that Dr. Kahn and other practitioners recommend cooking with garlic as often as possible.

BUT, there’s something in particular about an aged garlic extract that seems to have the most benefits, possibly because someone would have to consume a lot of garlic to get to the amount a supplement could provide. Plus, taking a supplement is a bit easier when it comes to something as potent as garlic.

The brand used in this study is Maxi Health Kyolic 400 Aged Garlic Extract (this link is to Amazon, but you can find the product in almost all health stores).Disclaimer: It’s important to work with a doctor before you make significant changes to your healthcare routine, but this could be promising for anyone concerned about preventing heart disease.

I just got some for myself and my family, and I’m excited to start taking it.
